How to maintain good vision until old age?

The eyes are one of the most important organs, with their help we perceive the world. Vision gives us joy to see the surroundings in all its beauty, our family and friends, everything that is around us. 

But, unfortunately, the eyes are also the most sensitive organ to external stimuli, so losing visual acuity is quite easy. 

With the advent of computers, smartphones, netbooks with bright ips, superamoled and so on screens in our lives, the eye strain in people closely connected with information and entertainment (for example, video games) technologies has increased dramatically. As a result, the queue for oculists began to increase markedly.

For the sake of interest, check yourself: if it became difficult for you to thread the needle, you cannot examine in detail the distant object that you saw perfectly well from the same distance, or , on the contrary, the objects near you are blurred, then experts recommend an examination.  

The cause of vision loss is a violation of the functions of the lenses of the eyes, which can be caused by overwork or an age factor. With age, the lenses of the eyes harden; this also leads to visual impairment (remember the physics lessons at school and experiments with the lens). After about 40–45 years, when the aging process begins, the eyes begin to age, and the aging of the eyes occurs much faster than other organs. In some cases, cataracts, glaucoma and other diseases can begin to develop, in which the retina is affected and central vision is impaired.

Prevention of preserving vision can be getting rid of fatigue of both the eyes and the whole body (after all, against the background of a general overload of the body, eyes suffer). Various types of massage help in this case (you can massage with your fingertips around the eyes, if there is no massage therapist familiar, but in no case should you press on the eyes with your hands).

In addition, if you work a lot at the computer, then at least every hour take small breaks – tear yourself away from the screen, go outside or simply go to the window and look at the world around us as a discharge. It is useful to relieve fatigue by “turning” your eyes clockwise and against or even making a good curve (just make sure that there is nobody near you, otherwise you will have to treat a bruise under the eye).  

Also try not to read books or use digital technology while traveling in transport. In addition, pay attention to lighting when working and reading books, it should be soft and not hurt your eyes. Well, and the arrangement at the desktop relative to the light was taught back in school: the light should go from above and to the left so that the shadow would not fall on the work surface. And yet – try to avoid books and newspapers with poor quality paper and print. 

Try to watch your eyes and take care of them – losing sight is easy, but finding it again is very difficult and very expensive. Pay attention to children – now there are a lot of young people who are directly “living” in phones, tablets and computers. Remember: for everything that we saw in life, we owe it to our eyes.
