How to choose the right sunglasses?

Shaded glasses should be worn not so much to protect the skin from the appearance of early wrinkles from constantly squinting eyes, but to protect the organs of vision from too bright light and the harmful effects of ultraviolet sunlight. Many do not know how to choose the right sunglasses , focusing mainly on their price, or on fashion trends, or on design and quality.

In fact, the choice of sunglasses – the process is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. Glasses must have certain properties and meet certain requirements. What should you pay attention to first when buying new sunglasses? Let us dwell on the main thing.

Lens manufacturing material. Lens color

In the manufacture of cheap sunglasses to protect against sunlight, usually used ordinary plastic. This material creates only the appearance of protection, as it freely transmits ultraviolet light.

If the lenses of the sunglasses are made of a more modern material, polycarbonate, only partial protection against UV rays belonging to class A and B is provided. The degree of darkening of the lenses does not matter. Moreover, too dark lenses are not only useless, but also harm the eyes, as they create an additional load.

Expensive glasses with lenses made of high-quality plastic are preferable to products with glass lenses because of their practicality. Plastic does not break and is less susceptible to mechanical damage. Sunglasses with organic plastic lenses need to be handled with care, as scratches can easily appear on their surface.

If you are limited in money and are lost, how to choose the right sunglasses of decent quality, buying a product with glass lenses of an average price category will be the best option.

The most acceptable color for the lenses of sunglasses is a palette of green, brown and gray shades. Such a spectrum absorbs ultraviolet rays better, does not distort colors, and has a positive effect on vision.

Stylish glasses with large lenses of pink, blue, orange, red and other colors should be more perceived as a decorative element, an additional accessory to the outfit. As a protection against the sun, such glasses are not suitable, since they practically do not protect the eyes from bright light. In addition, the eyes in such glasses get tired very quickly.

Special coating. The size

The surface of the lenses of sunglasses can be photochromic (“chameleons”) or polarizing. Photochromic lenses of glasses are good for frequent changes in light intensity, for example, when you constantly have to leave the building on the street and back. The disadvantage of such products is low wear resistance.

Polarizing lenses not only reliably protect the eyes from bright light and ultraviolet radiation, but also have an anti-glare property – they do not transmit rays reflected from various surfaces. Such glasses are not cheap, but they are considered one of the best. Polarized sunglasses are recommended for use by people with photophobia and after surgery to correct vision.

The size of the lens also matters in solving the problem of how to choose the right sunglasses . Large lenses are preferable because they protect not only the eyes from the sun, but also the skin around them. High-quality small-sized glasses from ultraviolet radiation will protect only the eyes, but will not become a way to prevent crow’s feet. This is their insignificant, but still disadvantage

And finally. Good sunglasses necessarily have a special marking and are sold with the instruction leaflet. Do not hesitate to ask the seller about the availability of an insert – this is a guarantee of the quality of the goods you purchase
