Exercises for improving vision: for adults and children

When everything is normal, a person perceives the ability to see as an unchanging given and does not pay any attention to the prevention of eye health. But! Exercises to improve vision can and should be performed daily! Especially now, when we spend most of the time either in front of a computer monitor or in front of a TV screen.

Moreover, this concerns students almost to a greater extent than adults. The curriculum even in the lower grades provides for the active use of electronic media – e-books, tablets, laptops and other “smart” devices. Working with them gives an active load on the organs of vision, the state of which can already be worsened by non-compliance with the rules of writing and reading, improper organization of lighting in the room (class) of the child.

All this, sooner or later, can turn into very unpleasant consequences. That is why it is so important to make the child take breaks at work at the computer (completing school tasks) and perform specific exercises with him, both for prevention and as a training for the eyes.

Eye charge

Absolutely simple exercises for improving vision can be performed at any time, anywhere, in any environment. It is advisable to do this daily, not only for children but also for adults – such a charge does not provide any difference in the system of “age” loads.

Attention! Each eye exercise in the proposed complex must be repeated 10 times. Charging for the prevention of vision should be done slowly, fixing the look at each given point. It is not necessary to rotate the eyeballs too much.

So, we turn away from the monitor, lean back in the chair, relax, look straight ahead. We start charging.

We raise our eyes (the head is in place!) To the ceiling, hold our eyes for a couple of seconds and describe the eyes in a full circle clockwise.

We lower our gaze to the floor and perform similar circular movements, but already counterclockwise. Have a rest.

We draw with a look “cross”: eyes to the ceiling, to the floor, to the left side, to the right side.

We repeat the exercise “cross”, but in a mirror image: we look at the floor, at the ceiling, to the right, to the left. Have a rest.

Now we describe with a glance a “butterfly” or a cross, but only with a slope: we look upward to the left – down to the right, up to the right – down to the left.

The same “butterfly”, but in a mirror image: we fix the look at the lower point on the left, move up to the right, then down to the right and up to the left. Have a rest.

We put the index finger to the very tip of the nose. We focus on him. Quickly straighten a hand with an extended finger. “Catch” his eyes and again focus our eyes on the tip of the finger.

Rest a little from charging, we blink. It is useful to sit quietly with your eyes closed for a couple of minutes. After that, you can return to interrupted work, reading, writing, lessons.

We are sitting at the computer correctly!

Here are the basic “rules of behavior” when working at a computer, which to some extent also serve as preventive exercises to improve vision . Everyone should know and, most importantly, fulfill them – both a child and an adult.

Sitting on a chair (armchair, sofa) at a computer (laptop) should be straight – without stooping, without supporting your chin with your hand. The back is straight, the posture is straight, the chin is slightly raised. This position of the body is not only the prevention of scoliosis and osteochondrosis, but also allows you to maintain the optimal distance from the eyes to the screen of the electronic device.

If during work the eyes begin to feel discomfort – there is a blurry image, a burning sensation, a desire to scratch the eyes, dryness, pain, tearing – you must definitely reduce the time of “communication” with the computer and consult an ophthalmologist. The doctor will conduct an examination, give the necessary recommendations for the prevention of vision, if necessary, prescribe eye drops or prescribe a course of maintenance medication.

And do not forget to do exercises for the eyes every day! It will take a little time, but vision will save. And it’s good to see – it’s so cool!
